Hey I'm Chris and I'm currently building a fully custom 1968 Camaro with my grandfather. I'm 19 and always wanted to build a muscle car since I saw my grandfather restore his 55 ford 15 years ago. I finally got my opportunity to build my dream car, a 1st generation Camaro! I'm currently in college, so some weeks school takes over and the car sits, but it’s been 6 months since we bought the car and it has as much work done to it as most do in over a year. This is going to be a FAST daily driver with a modified LS2 engine out of a 2006 GTO. Every square inch of this car is customized:
When she is done:
Body: frame off restoration, shaved door handles, shaved quarter panels, removed emblems, and radio antenna deleted, smoothed panel above trunk lid, removed front bumper, custom rear bumper, cowl induction hood, custom grille, front and rear spoilers, new glass (15% all around minus windshield), new chrome pieces and custom carbon fiber components (hood, spoilers, rear deck lid, header panel, might be painted over)
Engine: 2006 LS2 6.0L V-8 with cam, headers, exhaust, intake, heads, tune, custom fuel rail covers, custom accessory drive brackets, custom radiator with dual electric fans, custom harness, drive by wire gto gas pedal, emission system removed, custom engine mounts, 500+rwhp 24+mpg
Transmission: Stock 2006 GTO t-56 manual transmission with triple synchros, with custom hydraulic clutch system, custom transmission cross member
Exhuast: Aftermarket shorty headers into 4" collectors with custom 4" exhaust piping with electric cut outs
Rear end: Custom Ford 9" rear end with 3.7 positraction (gearing good for 255+ MPH)
Electric: 180 amp high output alternator, HID xenon headlights, LED sequential tail lights, battery hidden in trunk, trunk mounted custom sub box with 2 12" subwoofers and 2 amplifiers and custom lighting, custom lighting inside cab, modern aftermarket A/C system, custom modern electric wiper system, aftermarket gauges and console gauge pod, 10 speaker audio system, undercar lights (still undecided), lit engine bay (when open), hidden radio antenna, built in radar detector, remote control door opening system, advanced security system, built in hidden computer for engine diagnostics and tuning
Brakes:4 wheel power big disc brakes
Steering: power steering, aftermarket tilt steering column, aftermarket leather wrapped steering wheel
Suspension: high end aftermarket suspension, sway bars front and bake, rear shock tower, new tie rod sleeves, new shocks, new springs, lowered front and back
Interior: custom front racing seats, new black leather upholstery front and back, black interior carpet and dash with chrome accents, power windows, custom lighting, custom console, racing harness on front seats, custom leather wrapped steering wheel, aftermarket pedals, custom painted stock dash
Paint: black, debating stripes, stripes would be a ghost silver, car will "pop", protective black paint under car, on frame, drive shaft, rear end, etc
Wheels: custom 18" black rims with chrome lip, 18x8" front, 18x10" back, high performance tires 235/35/18 front, 285/35/18 rear
As of now, I have the body work almost done, a/c system in, cooling system in, engine in, tranny in, rear end in, drive shaft in, dynomat in, under body painted
Everything else is partially done.
This car is going to be a head turning, custom one of a kind muscle car. I'm trying to keep the original look and hide the modern technology. This car will be reliable and perform extremely well, on the street and track, on straights and through turns. Every component on this car is new and a huge upgrade from stock, from the new suspension system to the computer diagnostic system.
I'm looking for sponsors to either provide parts or money for parts on the car. Most of the systems are unfinished right now. Car will be completed regardless of sponsorships by spring 2010. This car will be a daily driver but will be going to car shows, performance events, local meets and heavy on the street scene all across Florida.
I'm still looking for sponsors from these things in particular:
disc brakes (front, but will replace rears with yours)
suspension components (rear sway bar, rear strut tower, rear and front springs and shocks)
high flow heads for LS2
Cam for ls2
Springs for ls2
intake manifold for ls2
mufflers
electric cut outs
audio system (component speakers, head unit, sub woofers and amps)
battery
racing seats and harness
another set of wheels and tires
and much much more!
As this car is being worked on and looks different everyday, please contact me via f150x05@aol.com and I will send a current picture of the progress as well as pictures of the entire build.
Thanks for looking,
Chris
