I picked this 1975 Chevy truck becasue I love the body style and I don't see many of them anymore on the road. I have been a big Chevy fan ever since I can remember. I beleive my Grandpa had alot to do with it as he too was a Chevy fan. I love all the work that I have done to this so far giving me a big sense of acomplishment. About my 75 Chevy. I bought it in Feb of 2007 for $900. It was missing the front drive shaft, no windshield wipers, headlights and a torn seat plus rust. Three weeks after doing some simple things to get it road worthy, the oil pump failed throwing a rod when it was 25 below outside. It sat for over a year while I was saving money to get a new 350 v/8. I redid the enterior moldings black, installed a cb radio, a tool box in the box, hella driving lights in the front, a cb radio whip and made final choices on what I wanted the truck to look like when all done. I purchased an 83 GMC with a 350 to use as a donor for the 75. It had a maroon red interior and was stock 100%. I switched the seat and carpet from the Gmc to the Chevy. I have decided that I want a Dark red and black color look for the truck with metalic pant. Summer of 2009 I had the gmc motor pulled and rebuilt and had an eddlebrock carb installed before dropping it into the 75 Chevy. I was so happy to finally drive this truck again after a year and a half sad and long wait! I installed a dual pipe muffler system with crome bowtie ends. I also recently installed a radio to listen to as well. I repainted the front brush guard and wired the hella driving lights up later that summer. December I had the rear brake lines and cylinders replaced, u joints and ball joints and bearings to prepare for using 4x4. I am looking for a replacement eddlebroke carb as mine has no choke, much body work and rust removal/repair, inner fender wells, floor, lower quarters of box, window seals, interior carpet, head liner, dark red metalic paint and black metalic paint, red led tube. lighting to run under box rails, reece class 3 reciever hitch and drop hitch, new black rims to match color of truck, new grill, new black dash board, new vent duct bezels, under carpet insulation, custom center console to fit around 4x4 shifter, lock out hubs from warn, new muffler pipes and hangers, new door pockets, door arm rests and window linkage, I am also looking for black door carpet bottoms and an infiniti bass link sub and carpet or interior work behind the bench seat to store things without loosing legroom. I am presently getting a custom front drive shaft put in to work with the 4" lift. I am doing the modifications to show the truck in parades to promote my lawn service business and also pull my next project with.
The cb radio I installed was my Grandpas from 1977, and just had it repaired and now works like new! I get many compliments on the truck and work done so far. I know my Grandpa would be proud! I would like sponsors to help with my above list of things I still want to do to this truck so I can start participating in car shows to meet and talk with other people and their projects. The 1st picture is how it was when I bought it, and the 2nd is how it sits as of 1`/15/10. Thanks for looking and reading!
