I just bought this car in January of this year and I love it. The previous owner swapped the stock carbureted 305 out for a 1970's truck 350. The block is a 4 bolt main, it has been bored .030" over, it has a small cam (not sure on the specs), heads have been ported and polished, aluminum intake, ceramic coated shorty headers, Flowmaster 80 Series muffler, rebuilt Holley 650 double pumper carb, 700-r4 automatic tranny, B&M shift kit, Hurst Dual Gate shifter, transmission cooler, electric fan, Autometer Monster Tach, 3.73 posi gears in the stock 10 bolt rear end, Weld Prostar wheels mounted on M/T skinnies and 10.5" slicks, aftermarket Daytona hood, and a Panasonic head unit.
I would like to take the engine out and put in a bigger cam that comes with springs and rocker arms, and swap the heads and intake out for a set of aluminum vortec heads and intake, forged internals, keith black pistons, put in a stall depending on the size cam I go with (still need to run some numbers), either beef up the 10 bolt or swap it for a 12 bolt, maybe further down the line I might spring for a turbo setup but this is about it for now.
I chose this car because my very first car was a 1988 Camaro but it was a base model Sport Coupe and I just couldn't afford to be without a car while i got rid of the 305. I found this which already had the swap done along with a few extra bonus features. Now I would just like to make this car my own. I have always been a HUGE drag racing fan, I spend almost every weekend down at the local track, every friday night at the local show, and I've always wanted to have a car that could do both. A car that I could drive to the show, drive to the track and make a couple passes, and then drive home without falling apart.
This is the only picture I could get to work with this, this is when it still had the Cragar wheels on it.
