I drive an 87 rx7 turbo2. ive owned 3 of these cars. my first was an 87 as well but was not turbocharged. so i did what i could to make it faster and handle better. Unfortunatly rotaries are expensive to make fast naturally aspirated.so....i bought a turbo motor and swapped it.First i bought a bad motor, so i bought another one that was good but then realized the wiring from a series 4 car doesnt match that of a series 5.From there i installed a haltech e6x standalone fuel management system. To hear the car finally start after a year of hard work with blood, sweat and tears was amazing!!!after that i was stuck on second gen rx7s. i bought another one a year or so later that was immaculate, but non-turbo.I then swapped the motor into it and sold the shell of the old one to a friend. Now i have a third one thats actually the turbo model rx7.Man i love beating the big cubic-inch boys at the track. They are always amazed at the power this little 1.3 makes. So far on my new rx7 ive installed a full 3" exhaust (Downpipe to muffler). and filter/intake kit. tein drift tech lowering springs and a hks boost controller which i can now use due to a fuel cut defencer i got from racing beat yesterday.
I have to boost set to 10 pounds and to compensate ive added the fuel pump from a 93 rx7 twinturbo. THIS CAR MOVES @ 10 LBS OF BOOST!!! Im always working on the car.Theirs nothing wrong or broken on it but theirs always room for improvement and its always in the back of my mind.I plan to install a hks frount mount intercooler, a 60-1 t4 turbo running 14 lbs., 720cc secondary injectors and an apexi afc to add extra fuel to the mix. with this set up i figure about 300+ rwhp. Id love to get it painted dropped maybe with a tein edfc coilover setup on some wide rubber on the back. and all of the this on the stock ecu and a daily driver. beat that if you can, cause nothing in my mind will.
