I bought my car for $200. Never expected it to last. Now that it has, I want to enhance my driving experience. Currently it's basically stock. I've installed new parts, and removed some old. 15K miles and it still runs like a dream. I'm planning a few modifications, yet keeping the original styling.
What I've done:
New Delco Alternator
New 25-gal fuel tank
DUAL 160W Stereo
Weight reduction Stage 1(Remove back seat and trunk carpet)
What I'd like to do:
Body repair
6X9 speakers, rear
5 1/2 speakers front
1600W Amp
Guage cluster along A-pillar
Redline Tach
Blue Spray-on Bedliner to Vinyl Roof
Re-upholster interior in blue
Collapsable cargo-divider in trunk
Damper shocks
Replace Front fiberglass facia
High Performance tires
650cfm Carb
Platnium 4 sparg plugs
MSD Ignition coil and wires
MSD plug wires and distributer
Edelbrock valve covers
Increase bore and stroke
High perfomance pistons
TH400 Powerglide Transmission
High pressure fuel and oil lines
16-pt. Roll cage
5-pt. Harness in front
And many more to think of...
This car is my baby. I've lsot a wife and a couple girlfriends over it. As is, I get 20 mpg highway and 15 mpg city. I've taken care of it, and driven it hard at times and she still holds together. I plan on keeping my Caprice for a long time to come.
I love power and performance. If I can get the same fuel economy with a few high-performance mods, the that will be extremely beneficial. In the end, I want to continue with the reliabilty and perfomance Detroit began it's reputation with. American Steel and Horsepower.
Due to the job market in my area, I'm unable to follow thru with my modifications, and with the assistance of companies and their parts, I will be more than willing to spread their name around the Dalas-Ft. Worth metroplex on a regular basis. My car is my life. Without it, I'm walking, and that ain't cool.
