Cool  1988 International S1600

My name is Andy Snapp. I am working on my 88 International S1600. It use to be a UHaul box truck. I'm converting it into car hauler that lays frame. I have spent most of mine time working on the new frame. The frame is going to be completely rebuilt from the firewall back. I have already Bagged it all around. I am using the factory 3 link in the rear and a monoleaf setup in the front. I would like to upgrade the front to a 3 or 4 link but I can't find anyone that will make a 4 link large enough for me.

As mentioned earlier, I have spent most of my time working on structural elements rather than cosmetic. I have mangaged to put a set of wheel simulators on with spike lugnut covers. I have also added a chrome grill, air horns, and a set of smoke stacks. I'm not into the whole diesel thing. I'm more into lowriders, but I thought that putting stacks on something that laidout would be a great combination. I think it looks great. Everytime I see the stacks that low it makes me smile.

Once I finish the bed, I'm going to body drop he cab around 5"s I wanted to make the bottom of the cab layout but that would mean that I'd need to do a 26" body drop and the wheels would be 8"s above the hood. Thats a little extreme for me. I figure that this will look just as good but not be as low. When the truck is laid out the top of the cab should be around 7ft high. I know that doesn't sound like much, but it will be about 12"s lower than stock.

I am not set on a paint skeem yet. I'm leaning towards black with some flames. Possibly make it look like an old hotrod.

I'm wanting to add a turbo mainly for the sound but the extra power would be a great help when hauling a car. I always wanted to run 22.5s or 24.5 rims but they are a 10 lug and I have a large 8 lug. My only option for wheel is the stock ugly steel ones. I would love to get some other wheels.

I would greatly appricate any help I could get with any part of this truck. This truck costs a lot more than an S10 to build. For instance: When I ordered metal for my lower frame rails (not including the laterial support) it cost $254 each. That doesn't count the upper or rear frame rails. I'm not complaining because I knew it wouldn't be a cheap build. I would be in debt to anyone that would help me out with this huge project.

Thank you for reading my submission.
