My car is a 1990 DA Integra that I have owned for 4 years now and I love it to death. In my opinion, Honda did everything right with this car. From body lines that flow better than most other cars on the road to features that were ahead of their time.
When I first bought it I knew nothing about Honda's and the import tuning scene. After 3 years of gathering as much knowledge as I could about everything to do with DA's and just Honda's in general I decided on the approach that I wanted to take with the car. I spent all of last summer picking up parts with money I had been saving since I bought the car and finally put my acquired knowledge to use. At this point, I am more than happy with this car, but I still have so many more plans for it.
To me, the difference between a stock, straight from the factory car and a tuned import is pride. Nothing brings me more pride than knowing that everything that has been added, removed, redone, and reworked has been done so with my own two hands. My car has a personality, something that sets it apart from all the others on the road. And that, to me, is the essence of tuning.
Being a junior in college leaves me with little spare money, heck it leaves me with little money at all, to continue working on my beloved DA, so a sponsorship from statRacing would be nothing shy of a godsend. I still have so much more that I want to do to my car, but I don't know when I will have the funding to do them and that to me is heartbreaking.
