1996 Nissan s14

Hello, you can call me Hoochie! Got this nickname because of my last name is Matthew Uchiyama, not because I am a Hoochie. LOL!

I've my Nissan 240sx since May of 2006. It has the typical but sexy black paint job. When I first got this car it was completely stock. I got the car stock, because it shows that no one really abused the car drifting. I chose this car because it's rear-wheel drive. Front-wheel drive is no fun. So, when everyone was into Hondas, I loved this car from the beginning because this car was FR. Let's see...

Engine Modifications:
-2.5" headers
-2.5" downpipe
-2.5" resonator
-2.5" catback exhaust
-cold-air intake

Honestly, the only reason why I got the exhaust system was because the horn on the car. The horn sounded like a chick should be driving it. None of upgrades are name brand. Most of them are off of ebay. Money is alsways short, so I did what I had to do. Tongue So, now it's too loud and a little bit quicker.

Drivetrain:
-SR20 transmission
-welded differential
-B&M short shifter

The only reason why I got the SR20 transmission is because I found it cheap on Craig's list. The stock transmission was going out, so I replaced it with the SR tranny. The B&M short shifter I bought because there was too much play with shifter. The welded differential I bought from a friend. There was no way I was going to buy a Kaaz differential that's really expensive, when I could get the welded differential for fifty bucks. Like I said, "Money is short." But, transmission shifts smoothly now. With the welded diff, every slow turn I always hear and feel the tires skip. But, it also breaks the tires loose a lot easier now. Tongue

Suspension:
-first RSR lowering springs, now Megan adjustable coilovers
-front and rear Megan strut stablizers
-Megan C-pillar bar
-rear-upper control arms

I got the front and rear strut stablizers off of a friend. I was barely getting into the drift and touge scene. He said that I needed them for less body roll. The megan C-pillar bar I also got off of my friend, that was also to help with body roll. The rear-upper control arms were to zero out the cambers in the back.I started off with the RSR lowering springs on stock struts because it was cheap buying it off of a friend. All it did for me was make it a bumpy ride. I used the lowering springs for about two years. My dad actually bought the Megan adjustable coilovers for the car. We just did our first "Just Drift" event at Willow Springs. So, he got the coilovers for the car. Oh yeah, my dad also got me a drift knob for my birthday. Smile

Future Modifications:
-turbo

I actually want to keep my car N/A right now. I need to learn how to control the car with less power. Eventually, I would want to turbo the engine.

When I first got my car I would drift in empty parking lots. I would also do a lot of touge runs. I watched the "Drift Bible" and Keiichi said he was always practicing at night. So, I would be out every night driving. I think that's why I would always be in debt. Gas prices were going up and I was always spending money on gas. I aslo went through tires. So, I would buy a lot of used tires. I got into the sport from my dad. He actually found drifting on the internet and we both got into it. So, then I found friends that loved the same thing. So, we would all go out at night to have fun. My dad signed us both up for the "Just Drift" event on July 26, 2008. He wanted to see how good we were. I learned that I have a lot of learning to do. So, we're doing another event on August 30th. This is the only way to get better at this sport. Plus, it's so much fun drifting on a course. You also learn a lot more from watching other people and talking to them. Instructors are also a big help in learning this fun sport.

I've always been into cars through my dad. He actually used to race when he was younger. I learned everything about a car from my dad. I don't think I'll ever lose interest in cars. Especially drifting...that has got to be the funnest thing ever.

A sponsorship that I'm looking for is really just getting tires for cheap or free. I really don't know what kind of sponsorship to go for. I just know it would be nice to get some free stuff to help me with getting better at drifting!!!!
