I got my 1998 Eagle Talon three years ago. I love it so much. It gets me from place to place in style. My Eagle Talon is a two door coup. The engine is a 2.0 litter, 4 cylinders, 122 cubic inch engine, which is a 420A engine. The transmission was replaced in 2007 at 135k miles, but it's still a 5-speed manual, front wheel drive. Inside are bucket seats for the driver, passenger, and the rear. The front two seats have seat covers with an image of a skull surrounded with blue flames. The steering wheel is covered with a steering wheel cover in the same design. The interior over all is in good condition; one step bellow excellent.
The exterior is a bit of a different story. It's in good to fair condition. There are scratch marks from people keying my car, a few small dents here and there -hardly noticeable-, and one rim is different from the stock rims. The reason why one rim is different is because I hit a curb after my brakes locked up on me on black ice. When I looked at the rim the lip was bent with no way to fix it. So I replaced the rim with a 16" by 7" Enki rim. The tires on my rims are Renkin Raptors 225/55/R16. The tread wear is 520, which is really nice, but these tires are in high demand. There were only 4 in Denver, Colorado at the time; and I got one but the rest had to be orders from another state. I'm glad I got lucky on getting the rest of these bad boy tires. Over all the exterior could use a bit of body work and some paint, other than that it looks great.
Over the past two years I have made some modifications. I have added a new stereo system that includes a Panasonic deck with a touch screen face plate. I chose this deck because it is a touch screen. Then I added a 12" 5500 series sub-woofer and a 600 watt amp from MTX. I chose these because I read somewhere MTX is one of the best so I went along with it; and I love the bass from it. Then I added two 2" tweeters in the dash, two round 6" speakers with tweeters in the doors, and two 6" by 9" speakers with tweeters in the rear. All I have to say is when you crack it up you can hear it a mile away; that's how hard it hits. The last addition I made to the inside of my car was foot peddles from APC or ARC racing I can’t remember. I chose these because they were on clearance and they were red and silver colored. On the exterior I added a spoiler from Tenzo-R. I chose this Spoiler because it was black and silver; and it matches my cars paint. I also added an after-market high flow muffler from either APC or ARC racing. The only other piece left on the exterior to discuss is the fog lights. I chose these because I wanted extra light in snowy conditions. The switch for the fog lights is under my stereo deck, along with two empty switches and a remote gain switch for my sub-woofer.
In the engine there are only a few changes I made. I have an after-market air filter. I chose the filter because it gives better air flow into the engine with less restriction. The other change was a transmission change because my fifth gear didn't work anymore. But it's still a 5-speed manual. Changing the transmission and adding a filter is the only changes in the engine compartment.
In the next few years I want to make a lot of changes and modifications. I want to overhaul the engine with a high performance engine overhaul kit; and I want to sleeve the cylinders. Add variable adjusting timing gears and pulley kit. I also want to add a turbo kit and intercooler to raise the horsepower from 144 to about 600. Then adding a two stage direct port nitrous system with intercooler spray bar. After-market ECU, after market ignition system, and a boost timer/controller to control the boost pressure from track to street. I want to add stage three or stage four racing clutch. Change the 5-speed manual to a six-speed manual if possible. High performance drive shafts (CV shafts). Big break kit for the front wheels; if possible change the rear drum breaks to disc breaks. I also want to stiffen the suspension by adding all after-market parts for the lower and upper control arms front and rear, sway bars front and rear (high performance), adjustable dampers, tower bars, tie bars, and all the other suspension components to high performance including the rubber bushings. The exhaust I want to have a cat-back exhaust system. I want to change the exhaust manifold to turbo exhaust headers. Add a body kit with fender flairs; then paint my car black. Then add a carbon fiber Vader hood with hood pins. Add Euro lights to the front and rear of the car. Inside the car I want to add racing seats with 4-point harnesses. I want to add guages to monitor the oil pressure, air/fuel ratio, fuel pressure, boost pressure, nitrous pressure, 5" tachometer with shift light, and battery voltmeter. Under the chaise I am going to add green neon glow.
When I am looking for sponsorships I’m looking for a few particular companies. I’m looking for a sponsorship from AEM for the plug n’ play ECU, timing gears, pulley kit, and fuel system. I’m looking for Tien sponsorship for the overall suspension. Engine over haul kit I’m looking for Speed Pro mainly, but a different one will work too. I’m looking for a Turbonetics sponsorship for the turbo kit and intercooler kit. I’m looking for DC Sports sponsorship for the turbo exhaust headers, turbo down pipe, and cat-back exhaust. For the racing seats I’m looking for either Bride or Sparco. The 4-point racing harnesses I am not looking for any particular brand as long as they are certified. I’m looking for a sponsorship with Auto meter for my guages. I’m looking for a sponsorship with MSD ignition for my ignition system. I’m looking for a sponsorship with NOS for my nitrous system. I’m looking for a sponsorship with ACT or Unorthodox racing for my racing clutch. Any other sponsorship would be nice too. Overall I’m looking for certain sponsors for certain parts.
I am modifying my car because I want to have a cool car. I want to be the one in my group with a dependable car that looks great and runs really well. I mainly want to show other people what I can do to a car. I want to be able to show off my car at drag ways and some car shows. To me my car means everything. It’s my only means of transportation to school, to my friends houses, and just to go other places. My car is basically my gate way to freedom from my house. Every time I work on my car I feel so calm and relaxed like I’m not under any stress. My car makes me so happy that when I’m mad I just work on my car and it calms me down. Over all I just want to have a cool car to show; and to have something really nice in my life.
In exchange for your help i will put decals on the side of my car, go to drag races, and local car shows. I will install all the parts that are given to me. I will make sure my car is running extremely well. If you need anything else send me an e-mail.
