Hey, my name is Nick. I just recently bought a 2000 audi a4 1.8t quattro manual 5 spd. I havent done any mods to it yet, except for a custom mounted autometer boost gauge. I mounted it in the center heater vent. Looks pretty good if i do say so myself.
Future Mods:
Garrett t3/t04e 50 trim .63 a/r
T3 flanged manifold
Oil line set, including all flanges, fittings, and adapters
Custom 3 in. exhaust - Turbo back
Custom 3 in. TIP with S4 MAF
Unitronics 630cc tune
Tial 38 mm wastegate w/ 1 BAR spring
Scat Rods
OEM piston rings
Front mount intercooler
Innovate LC-1 a/f gauge
630 cc injectors
Uprgaded intank fuel pump
V-band adapter
Southbend Stage 3 clutch and flywheel
I think thats about it for the future mods right now. These wont be coming until next spring/summer. The turbo will come first. Then i will get what i can on the list with whatever money i have left over. I can do without the rods, rings, and the clutch for a little while atleast. I just wont be able to boost as much as id like too. It all takes time though.
I am very passionate about my car. I love driving. Its the best thing in the world. I love watching the rpm's shoot up to 6 grand, then shift and watch it all over again. The speedometer rises as you rip through the gears. You hit 60, 70, then all of a sudden your at 100. Now 120. Its a rush, i couldnt ask for anything better. Im always looking for things to make my car better, its just the money thats holding me back. I would love to make my car the best it can be. I drive it every day why not? I only put the best fluids in it. Always fully synthetic oil and the best gas i can find. Always go by the manufacturer specs. If i were to loose my car i dont know what i would do. I'd be lost.
I will be attending college next year for Automotive Technology. I've been working on cars since before i could walk with my dad. Hes also a mechanic. I love doing it and i want to do it for the rest of my life. This is probably why i want to do the things i want to do to my car.
I think the main reason for wanting mod my car is for personal satisfaction. Every time i go out and look at it i can be like, "Yeah, i did that". Its almost like an addiction. Once you start you dont want to stop. Even just doing my boost gauge, now i want to do more. But not only for my satisfaction but for other peoples as well. When i drive by i want them to be amazed. I want them to ask questions about it. I will answer with pride because i know i built my car to the best of my abilities, and also knowing it will fly by just about anything else on the road helps too.
