Back in October of 2009 I bought a fully stock 2 door 2001 Chevy Cavalier 5 speed to travel from Georgia to North Carolina on the weekends from work at first, but the more and more I drove it, the more I wanted to customize it. The interior wasn't all that great, the dash was cracked in a few places and busted above the radio. The exterior was also not that impressive due to a few scratches and dings.
I first started customization with the interior, changing the radio out to a Dual head unit, then adding a 1000 watt. Sony Explode amp, Two 12 inch Sony Explode speakers, then adding a Scosche 1600 watt Capacitor, finally adding 2 red and black racing seat covers. About two months time past, I finally got the money up to add what I was really wanting, an air intake and an aftermarket muffler. I managed to get a Specter 4 inch air intake, that alone added more power, gas mileage, and a deeper rumble to the exhaust. The 5 inch 3A Racing aftermarket muffler was another great investment, it added more power, more gas mileage, and that infamous loud rumble that drive most people crazy. The exterior is still stock and has the minor impurities, aside from the aftermarket muffler.
Finally having my cash flow reorganized and steady again my future plans of customization include (starting interior going to exterior): a custom dash, red and white leather interior with racing seats and steering wheel, gauges ranging from RPM, Oil pressure and temp, Water temp, Boost, Volt, and Instrument cluster, radio with LCD display, weight reduction, short shift, two 10 inch subs, 15 inch sub, 5,000 watt amp with 1,600 watt capacitor, and interior neon. exterior: wide body kit, 18 inch wheels, low profile tires, adjustable suspension, spoiler, aftermarket hood, window tint, front and back aftermarket lights, custom reversed lambo doors. hide away fuel tank, under glow neon, custom paint. mechanical: V6 side engine, cold air intake, 2 inch headers and exhaust, high performance plugs and wires, super charger, cam shaft, flywheel, stage 3 clutch, 6 speed racing transmission. pistons, re bored, E.F.I, high performance CPU. Like I said, when i get my money situated, this is what I plan on adding to the car. Mainly going from the cheaper, inexpensive parts gradually moving to the bigger more expensive parts. I know that all of the parts listed above are expensive and require major work and time. I'm just a dreamer of car customization, I love every part of it, from getting my hands covered in oil and grease, hard to do things, to easy simple installs. From bolt of to snap on to fabrication. It has went beyond a hobby or a passion to something more like a lifestyle.
At first this car didn't mean a whole lot to me, mainly using it as a travel car. As the days past I wanted to change this into a mean little machine. I decide from the second I wanted to start customizing this car, I said to myself, " I don't want this to be another rice rocket that you see, I want this to be a head turner, a head tuner, I want people to say, "WOW, did you see that car!", that is the kind of reaction I want from my car. As I spent the time and the money to customize it, the love and respect for this car went through the roof. Everyday I see another car that has been customized, it doesn't matter how little or how much, it makes me just that much more determined to get my car looking and running how I want it. It makes me work more and more harder at work, just so I can run to the parts store and get the part I want. This car didn't mean a whole lot, but that has all changed, it means more to me than most people will understand. This whole customization process didn't start with this car. It originally started with my brothers truck. He wanted to add a few things to his truck to make it more him. He first asked his friends for help and when they all said they didn't know how, I convinced him to do it himself and let me help. From that moment on I got hooked on customizing. As the years past I finally managed to acquire a car of my own. The Cavalier is my 7th car I have owned, but the 3rd car I have customized of my own. I have helped many of my friends with customization of their vehicle.
The kind of sponsorship I am looking doesn't have to be a major sponsorship, it could be any kind of sponsorship. Rather it be a sponsorship that provides a simple vinyl sticker to a sponsorship that provides a big part or a sponsorship that provides cleaning products or even a sponsorship that has nothing to do with vehicles. I welcome all sponsorships of all sorts. If it means that the sponsorship helps me in anyway to get my car looking the way I dream it to be, I will take it with open arms.
